I can’t believe I’m home again, it’s already been a month.. Bonaire stole my heart! I miss the sun, the bright blue see, the beautiful animals and relaxed and friendly people.. As you can hear, I had an amazing holiday in the Dutch Antilles at the island of Bonaire, which is located in the Caribbean. It’s probably one of the least familiar islands there and somewhat smaller, with few tourists. It’s mostly known to be a divers paradise, but I can certainly say, for non-divers – like me – it’s a perfect holiday destination as well! I’d like to share with you my experience, some pictures and most importantly, some tips for you when you are thinking of visiting Bonaire! Also, the pictures at the bottom of the blog probably say it all: Bonaire is incredibly beautiful! Continue reading “Why you should visit the breathtaking island of Bonaire: My travel experience!”
As the countdown on my site indicates: It’s almost time for my holiday! This Friday I will fly to Bonaire (an island of the Dutch Antilles) with my friend Lisa, whoehoeee! I’m super excited and we are looking forward to it for weeks :D It will be my second destination outside of Europe (first was New York!), so I’m really excited to see how much it will differ from what I know and to see if it is worth the higher price and long flight :) Continue reading “Summer holiday shopping haul: Bonaire!”
Spring is here, and so is my urge to be outside more often! I take every moment I can to enjoy the sun (as it’s still quite rare in the Netherlands) and preferably I take a walk through the city centre of Utrecht or through nature. However, now that I found my new hobby I really don’t want to spend time inside anymore! Over the past few years I’ve been using my dad’s bicycle (and mountain bike) for some exploration of the Dutch country side. However, as I was a poor student, I’ve never dared to get a road bike of my own. What if I wouldn’t use it so much? Then it would be a waste of money. Also, I already played badminton quite often, and I didn’t really have a safe place to store my bike. So I never really got to buy one of my own.
BUT NOW I DID!! :D Continue reading “4 Tips for starting a new sport: Bicycle racing!”
As I’ve studied in Ireland, I’ve come to get to know the country quite well. I’ve gone back after my studies for a roadtrip with my parents and two weeks ago I went back again with friends! Ofcourse I was super excited, cause going to Ireland feels like coming back home :) This time it was not to go back to Galway (where I studied) or to explore new places. It was just for a citytrip to Dublin! Ryanair had a nice price promotion (as you might know, I love finding good deals!), departing from a new airport: Amsterdam! Continue reading “Dublin Citytrip!”
Anyone who knows me, knows my love for Ireland. Is it the the green calm landscapes? Is it the joyful Irish music? Is it the welcoming people with their awesome accents? It’s hard to say, I just get a very special feeling in this country… (and even when just thinking about it!) The biggest reason for this is that I spend my study abroad there in 2012, in the beautiful city of Galway. I really loved my time there and want to go back as often as I can. As my mom and dad couldn’t visit me when I was there, we decided to go there again so I could show them around where I lived, went to college and visit the countryside.
During my study abroad I already travelled around a lot, so I got to know some of the most beautiful spots in the country! Continue reading “12 tips for a great roadtrip through the wonderful country of Ireland”
