It’s been 2 years since visiting Cuba, what an amazing holiday that was! I’ve written a blog about this country of rum, salsa and cigars previously here: Tips for preparing a vacation to Cuba), with travel tips and recommendations for places to stay. However, I haven’t shared that many pictures of this trip, while Cuba is such a photogenic country! I’ve been loving photography for quite some time now, especially on my holidays. So I’d like to share my photo’s a bit more on my blog as well! With a recent holiday to Israel, I published my first photoblog: Photoblog: Tel Aviv Street Art and I thought – I might as well make it a recurrent blog theme and post more photoblogs! I always love seeing other people’s travel pictures, as it inspires me to exploring new destinations. Therefore, now I hope to inspire you to visit Cuba!
My colleague is visiting Marrakech next week, and as I was giving her some tips for places to visit, I realised I haven’t gotten to write a blog about my experience there! I visited Morocco with a friend for the first time in November 2017, which is actually a perfect destination for that time of year – not too hot, but still warm and sunny! We stayed in Marrakech only, for 7 days, but we did decide to book 2 accommodations there. First within the Medina, at a Riad, to really experience the vibrant city. And the second part of the week in a more quiet area, in basically a palace (Palais Dar Ouladna, which I really can recommend)! It had a swimming pool with a wonderful garden so we could spend the rest of our time for relaxations and tanning.
Hereby sharing my experience of this trip, with some recommendations of places to visit and of course plenty of pictures. In my opinion, Marrakech is the perfect destination for a short trip – with beautiful sights to see in the city, potential cool day trips to visit the surroundings of the city and due to the pleasant climate, a nice escape from the cold Netherlands ;) Continue reading “Highlights for a 1-week city trip to Marrakech!”
I’ve recently written my take on Israel as a holiday destination: Honest Travel Review: The 5 Up- and Downsides of picking Israel as a Holiday Destination. And as mentioned there, I was very pleasantly surprised by Tel Aviv and it’s cool vibe. What especially stood out to me was all the street art everywhere in the city, which makes for such a photogenic city. In this blog, I wanted to talk less and show more – sharing my photos of the beautiful street art we saw during our 2-day stay. I don’t really have recommendations for a route and where to find some cool graffiti pieces, it’s actually finable all around the city! I hope you’ll enjoy my photos :)
Israel really was one of the most fascinating countries I’ve been to recently. There’s so many diversity in this country in any kind of way. The contrasts between the modern city of Tel Aviv and the historic city of Jerusalem, the beautiful beaches vs the dry deserts and last but not least, the diversity between the religions and cultures. I have to say – it’s a lot to take in, but I’m also so happy I went. It’s a country you often see on the news due to the political conflicts, but also a country that I knew very little of. I did, however, hear a lot of positive stories about visiting Israel and all the beautiful attractions it has to offer. With my family, we were looking for a holiday where we could explore a totally new and different country, not too far away from home where we could spend a lovely week away during our Christmas Holidays.
When we started the booking process and picking our destinations in Israel, it soon became apparent that it wouldn’t be the most accessible country to get around in though. Due to the different conflicts and religious differences within the country, you’ll have to be aware of where to go and not go as well. I’ll be happy to share our experience and provide the Pros and Con’s of visiting this country.
Wow, time flies. It’s already been over a year since me and my boyfriend made our first big trip abroad together! By that time, we were not even together for a year, but quickly decided that we wanted to travel somewhere awesome during our Christmas holidays! We did not really have an idea of where to go – even though the USA always appealed to me a lot for doing a road trip. We decided to spend some time finding destinations where we could book a ticket for a reasonable price at that time of year. You can read more on tips to planning your holiday here: How to travel more often and find good deals – 5 tips!
We’d loved to go to South-Africa, however, it seemed that the prices were incredibly high that time, as it was peak season then (and we were actually lucky to already go half a year later to S-A). We found extremely cheap tickets from Dusseldorf – San Francisco for 385EUR! Still a very cool destination to us, with lots of sights to see and nice weather for wintertime. As we flew both ways to San Francisco, we decided to travel in a circle. Spending the first days in San Francisco (which was actually during Christmas time) and spending the last days very closeby for our return flight. It was an amazing holiday and we couldn’t be happier to spend this time together there. I’ll talk you through the stops we made and the experiences we’ve had – of course, including lots of photos!
