Honest Travel Review: The 5 Up- and Downsides of picking Israel as a Holiday Destination

Israel really was one of the most fascinating countries I’ve been to recently. There’s so many diversity in this country in any kind of way. The contrasts between the modern city of Tel Aviv and the historic city of Jerusalem, the beautiful beaches vs the dry deserts and last but not least, the diversity between the religions and cultures. I have to say – it’s a lot to take in, but I’m also so happy I went. It’s a country you often see on the news due to the political conflicts, but also a country that I knew very little of. I did, however, hear a lot of positive stories about visiting Israel and all the beautiful attractions it has to offer. With my family, we were looking for a holiday where we could explore a totally new and different country, not too far away from home where we could spend a lovely week away during our Christmas Holidays.

When we started the booking process and picking our destinations in Israel, it soon became apparent that it wouldn’t be the most accessible country to get around in though. Due to the different conflicts and religious differences within the country, you’ll have to be aware of where to go and not go as well. I’ll be happy to share our experience and provide the Pros and Con’s of visiting this country.

Roadtrip California – Visiting the major highlights within two weeks

Wow, time flies. It’s already been over a year since me and my boyfriend made our first big trip abroad together! By that time, we were not even together for a year, but quickly decided that we wanted to travel somewhere awesome during our Christmas holidays! We did not really have an idea of where to go – even though the USA always appealed to me a lot for doing a road trip. We decided to spend some time finding destinations where we could book a ticket for a reasonable price at that time of year. You can read more on tips to planning your holiday here: How to travel more often and find good deals – 5 tips!

We’d loved to go to South-Africa, however, it seemed that the prices were incredibly high that time, as it was peak season then (and we were actually lucky to already go half a year later to S-A). We found extremely cheap tickets from Dusseldorf – San Francisco for 385EUR! Still a very cool destination to us, with lots of sights to see and nice weather for wintertime. As we flew both ways to San Francisco, we decided to travel in a circle. Spending the first days in San Francisco (which was actually during Christmas time) and spending the last days very closeby for our return flight. It was an amazing holiday and we couldn’t be happier to spend this time together there. I’ll talk you through the stops we made and the experiences we’ve had – of course, including lots of photos! The Ultimate Roadtrip through South-Africa from Johannesburg to Cape Town (in 3 weeks)

Hi there!
Thanks for reading, I’m so excited to share this new post with you all! I’ve just returned from a trip to South-Africa, which was amazing! It’s a country I can recommend to anyone: Incredible diverse landscapes, wonderful wildlife, bubbly cities, friendly people, tasty food & wines, affordable prices (at least for Europeans) and the best sunrises/sunsets I’ve seen in my whole life! Okay, I’ll calm down now a bit and will tell you all about my travel itinerary with the wonderful places I’ve visited together with my boyfriend. As mentioned in the title, we booked 3 weeks and landed on Johannesburg and flew back from Cape Town, it was just enough to see most of the highlights we wanted but in the end, we wished we could have stayed longer, as we were so mesmerised by this beautiful country. How to travel more often and find good deals – 5 tips!

Looking back the last 2 years, it was really wonderful. I encountered a lot of growth in my job, I had a solid base of friends around me, travelled to beautiful places and last but not least: I met the love of my life! I feel so lucky about all these things and I think that because of the fact that I am so happy, I found myself being less behind my computer writing blog articles and more out undertaking things. I ‘needed’ my blog less, to write down my thoughts, I had less concerns to overthink and was able to discuss them with my boyfriend. However, I still really love having my own blog and I want to keep my hobby alive! So hereby starting off with the first blog of 2018 (in July, damnit ;)).
