Utrecht Cityguide: My 7 Favourite Hotspot Restaurants

I’m currently living in Utrecht for almost 2 years, and over that time I’ve really enjoyed exploring the city, finding nice places to drink and eat. Especially for young people, there are plenty of places that not only serve food for reasonable prices, but have a great atmosphere and fun vibe, and of course have very tasty food! I thought it would be nice to share some of these places, in case you are visiting the city (which you definitely should!). I’m no culinary expert, so I wouldn’t state these are the absolute best restaurants there are, but these are sure my favourite hotspots (map included)!Β  Continue reading

Tips for preparing a vacation to Cuba

Hey there. It’s been a while! I personally take it as a good thing, have been distracted with fun things and not being behind my computer all the time. However, I still really wanted to write this post, and now that I’m in the train, it feels like the right time! End of May, I was able to make my first longer travel outside Europe! So far, I’ve been to New York, last year to The Dutch Caribbean island Bonaire and now… Cuba! Continue reading

Which city is nicer to visit, Ghent or Bruges?

It’s been a while since I’ve posted a blog. I did make a lot of drafts but couldn’t find the time and effort to finish them. But actually, I think it’s a good sign, it shows I was busy being outside of home: Exploring and doing fun things! Also last weekend, when I went away for 4 days with my lovely mom. I went to the beautiful cities Ghent and Bruges (or Gent & Brugge in Dutch) in my neighbour country Belgium. Of course, I cannot wait to share my experience with you and recommend you the best city to visit (if you have to choose!). Because ultimately, I can already give away a spoiler: I would recommend you to visit both! Continue reading

Preventing FOMO: The Fear Of Missing Out

Today, I want to talk about FOMO, it stands forΒ the Fear Of Missing Out.Β It basically means that you constantly have the urge to be at all popular events or friend hangouts, that when you skipped something, you might have missed something great. It may sound like a lame term, like the next YOLO or something, but it actually has some meaning to it. I personally don’t have this fear, but I do feel like it’s easy to get caught up in it. In today’s world there are so many temptations for people to do, to visit and to see. Facebook is full of pictures of people travelling the world andΒ festival events are popping up like mushrooms! It’s often difficult to deal with the pressure of attending social gatherings, especially when each gathering is a lot of fun! Continue reading

My Favourite Vinyl Records – Summer 2016

Over a year ago, I got my first record player as a graduation gift. I copied this hobby from my dad and loved it ever since! I often go searching for secondhand records at flea markets (as well as buying other stuff there) and going into record stores just to browse what albums they have. I personally own a Thorens TD166 MKII record player and I’m really happy with it. Even though I can connect Spotify to my speakers as well, I love buying records of artists I really like and I can definitely tell the difference in sound when having my record player on compared to having spotify on. It’s hard to describe but I feel like listening to vinyl records make the music sound so much more vibrant, with more depth and intonation or something compared to ‘digital’ music. I can really recommend anyone to get a good record player! :) Continue reading
