I can’t believe I’m home again, it’s already been a month.. Bonaire stole my heart! I miss the sun, the bright blue see, the beautiful animals and relaxed and friendly people.. As you can hear, I had an amazing holiday in the Dutch Antilles at the island of Bonaire, which is located in the Caribbean. It’s probably one of the least familiar islands there and somewhat smaller, with few tourists. It’s mostly known to be a divers paradise, but I can certainly say, for non-divers – like me – it’s a perfect holiday destination as well! I’d like to share with you my experience, some pictures and most importantly, some tips for you when you are thinking of visiting Bonaire! Also, the pictures at the bottom of the blog probably say it all: Bonaire is incredibly beautiful! Continue reading “Why you should visit the breathtaking island of Bonaire: My travel experience!”
We all know the saying ‘live your life’, meaning you should enjoy it to the fullest. I always thought: I just want to be happy, get a family, a nice job, travel a lot and do other fun things. However, I didn’t spend much time figuring out what would actually make me happy and how to achieve this. I feel like the biggest part of my life I’ve partly acted on an autopilot mode. Going from primary school to high school, eliminating course subjects that I wasn’t so good at, choosing a study that was in line with what I was good at, went to university and did what was expected of me. But did I really enjoy it? Continue reading “Why you shouldn’t just live your life”
Hey there! Today I am writing about my experience with Rotterdam, the city that I live in since May and will leave in two weeks. I grew up in the northern part of the Netherlands and studied in Groningen, so it was quite a big step for me to move to the ‘Randstad’ as we call in here (The western, more populated part of the Netherlands). I decided to move here because Groningen was great as a student city, but it didn’t have much to offer jobwise. Because of this, many students move away to the bigger cities. As I also thought it would be time for a change, I started looking for jobs further away. Then I found a really nice marketing internship at a travel agency. As I’ve always loved travelling and I didn’t have any relevant working experience yet, I decided this opportunity was a good way to start my professional career!
I’m working on myself, for myself, by myself
At this moment I only have about 2 weeks left in Rotterdam, before I will start my newest adventure: moving to Utrecht! However, this adventure is still quite uncertain. The past few months were really nice for getting to know how a company runs, get more experience, learn new things and getting to know a whole new city. Continue reading “Rotterdam – What a city!”
Some time ago I received a cute small booklet with the magazine FLOW. This booklet is called: 1000 Questions to yourself. I’ve loved it ever since I got it and been answering questions myself, but also used it to get to know my friends better :) During evenings with a nice glass of wine, we let each other say a number under 1000 and answer the corresponding question. There are easygoing questions, but also some questions on a more deeper level. Today, I will pick 10 random questions from this booklet and answer them for you (no I didn’t cheat in picking them!;))! So hopefully, you’ll be able to answer the question ‘Who the fuck is Elles?’ better after reading this post! ;)
