Summer in the Netherlands is awful. Over the last few weeks it’s just have been rain & clouds, at night its around 10 degrees. How can people even call this summer? I personally really need to spend quite some time outside to feel happy. So not being able to do that because of the rain can make you feel a little depressed.. To make sure this doesn’t happen, I will share with you some tips to still get that summer vibe and feel good! Spring is here, and so is my urge to be outside more often! I take every moment I can to enjoy the sun (as it’s still quite rare in the Netherlands) and preferably I take a walk through the city centre of Utrecht or through nature. However, now that I found my new hobby I really don’t want to spend time inside anymore! Over the past few years I’ve been using my dad’s bicycle (and mountain bike) for some exploration of the Dutch country side. However, as I was a poor student, I’ve never dared to get a road bike of my own. What if I wouldn’t use it so much? Then it would be a waste of money. Also, I already played badminton quite often, and I didn’t really have a safe place to store my bike. So I never really got to buy one of my own.

I now graduated one year ago, I let go of my student life and started working life. For me this transition had some highs and lows. I can look back on an amazing student time and even though I had some nice friends from my high school life, the thing that made my student life so great was joining student associations! You might think of stupid stereotypes of people joining these associations, but I can definitely proof you wrong! ;)
